Thank you for all the gifts you shared with me over the past 13 years. Although I did not do everything even close to perfect you did come to know I always did what I thought was best for the overall parish community.
As far as this last month was concerned I was overwhelmed by your response. The number of thoughtful cards and notes will be my first task in my retirement. Your financial support will allow me to pursue independent living in the year ahead as I try to discern my final landing spot. All of it humbled me a great deal.
I hate to be greedy at a time like this but there is one final ask, one final gift that I seek. Please continue to grow as the fine Christian community we are. Be kind to those less fortunate, continue the outreach, and be kind to the priests, deacons, staff and ministry leaders. COVID has been a break off point for many people and we need new people to get involved. Finally, be kind to one another, without that there can be no Christianity.
