Building & Grounds

The Buildings and Grounds Committee consists of parishioners with knowledge of and interest in facility and property management who serve the parish by meeting periodically to monitor the condition of and make suggestions for maintaining our large and beautiful campus.  The parish is fortunate to be sited on several level acres with 6 distinct facilities including: the Church sanctuary and basement gym, the Academy of Our Lady Inter-Parochial School, Community Hall, the Ministry Center, the Rectory, and the Msgr. Holmes Building, plus a large grass athletic field and a large parking lot.   The mission and ministry of the Committee is to advise and work collaboratively with the pastor to ensure a welcoming, comfortable, safe, and accessible physical environment in which our parish community may gather, worship, learn, and socialize.

• Identify and prioritize the full range of facility issues affecting the campus. 
• Assist with facilities staffing issues, including job descriptions, candidate screening, and benchmarking. 
• Research, present options and alternatives, and make recommendations on how to proceed with major capital investments, maintenance, and repairs. 
• Help in planning and/or executing general repairs on parish facilities and grounds. 
• Consult with parishioners, parish staff, and external experts and contractors on facilities issues, expense options, and preferred approaches. 
• Assist with facility beautification efforts such as light painting, cleaning, and garden and flower maintenance 
• Assist with technology issues for the parish.Communicate facility needs and wish-lists to the parishioners periodically.
