With the guidance of the Youth Ministry Coordinator, the activities for the CYO group are planned by our Youth Council with the support of our Adult Council. The councils meet twice a year (September & January) to plan the schedule for the next 3-4 months. Council members, both youth and adult, are assigned to one of eight groups who plan and conduct the activity for a particular evening.
Any sophomore, junior or senior student can be a member of the Youth Council. Anyone wishing to become a member of the Youth Council should be an active member of the group, attending most of the meetings, as well as participating in the planning and leading of their assigned night.
The Adult Council for CYO assists the Youth Ministry Coordinator and the Youth Council in planning and leading various activities and events. Many members of the Adult Council are couples, although single parents or adults often serve on the council as well. Two planning meetings, as well as participating and leading an activity on 2-3 assigned evenings during a calendar year are required. Adult members primarily serve to support the Youth Council and the Youth Ministry Coordinator, as well as act as chaperones. Members of the Adult Council are required to be in compliance with the Archdiocese Safe Environment Program. Information on this program can be found here.
