St. Catharine’s youth ministry program is open to all high school students. It is an opportunity to come together to form their own community within our parish, yet to feel a part of St. Catharine’s Church.
The group meets on most Sunday evenings during the school year for social as well as spiritual activities. Our teens are encouraged to participate in our many outreach programs which are supported through volunteer hours and fundraising. The youth ministry also gives back to the parish with their gifts of time and talent. During Christmas they present The Festival of Lights, and on Good Friday they offer the Living Stations of the Cross. Youth Masses are scheduled a few times a year on Sunday evening.
Activities are planned by our youth council with the support of our adult council and the Youth Ministry Director. During the year, three weekend retreats are offered. One is for freshmen and sophomore high school students, one is for junior and senior high school students and the summer retreat is open to all high school students. Through these retreats, students find the time and opportunity to open their hearts to God’s love and to realize what is truly important in their lives: faith, family and friends.
Teens of all faiths are welcome and invited to sign up to attend.
