Family Promise Network

St. Catharine is an active host parish for Family Promise of Bergen County. Family Promise is an organization associated with various congregations in Bergen County to offer clean, safe overnight lodging for homeless families.
 
St. Catharine hosts families (up to 14 people) in our Ministry Center two different times during the year for one or two weeks at a time – usually in the late winter/early spring and again in the fall. the spring and again in the fall. 
  
Two weeks before the families arrive, there is a “Sign Up Weekend” where lists of needed items are posted after each mass and parishioners can sign-up to donate one or more needed items.
 
Additionally, there are many opportunities for parishioners to participate. You may wish to volunteer in a role that interacts with the families or you may prefer to play a “behind the scenes” role.
