This weekend, July 31st/August 1st, in our relentless pursuit of normalcy within the liturgy, there will be some practices that will be restored. In no particular order:
we will be opening up some pews on the right side that will not require masks or social distancing; altar servers will fulfill all responsibilities, except for holding the book for the priest; and the offertory gifts will be presented to the priest. In addition, the sacrament of Reconciliation will take place in the church on Saturdays from 4:15pm to 5pm. Related to liturgy, I am urging those who are involved in Liturgical Ministries, especially Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors, to help us out. We recognize that many travel during the summer, but when you are in town, please volunteer and help us out.
Also on the liturgical side, as mentioned last weekend, we are looking for one or two young adults or college age people, as well as mature high school juniors or seniors, to be sacristans. For more information please

On a very happy note, our parish received national recognition from the U.S. Bishops and Creighton University as a “champion parish” for climate covenant and other environmental issues. We thank our Peace & Justice committee, led by Ann Marie Brennan and Lynn Mayer, their core leaders, and our parishioners who participated in their programs. We offer our congratulations and thanks.
